Let’s Get Creative Here

I figured if I was starting this blog because someday I’d like to be a writer, I had better actually do some creative writing here, to show the world that I can do it. It’s a scary thing putting your writing out where anyone can read it but sometimes you’ve got to do the scary things.

So I guess this post is really just an introduction post for what I’m going to do with my writing. Along with my regular Everyday and Travel posts, I will also start putting up my stories, section by section. I’ll aim for one story post a week. The first will come out Monday, so mark your calendars! And I’ll go from there.

I’ll begin with stories I’ve already written, preferably the short stories. I do have a novel written, as well as at least five more novel plans that have formed in my mind but still need to be written down, but I figure I’ll stick mostly with the short stories here, only because the novels are very much still works in progress. Once I run out of short stories, I’ll start writing more. Someday I’d like to try doing a choose-your-own-adventure type of story here. I’ll write it in sections and end each section with a choice which readers will be able to vote on, and whichever choice gets the most votes will then determine how the rest of the story unfolds, and so on and so on. I think that would be a fun challenge for myself, to mold the story based on choices made by readers.

But I’ll need to work my way there. To get votes I need a stable audience, and while still not there yet, I’m working towards that. So I’m starting with short stories and I’ll work my way up from there.

Monday’s story will be Porcelain, a story I wrote for a creative writing class I took in school. It follows a girl on a train as she struggles to unhinge reality from herself. Tune in then to find out where possible ends.
