Obsessed with Lush

I’ve been pretty obsessed with Lush products as of late. I’ve always been in love with their bath balms (what better way is there to end the day than with a nice soothing bath, filled with exotic colours and smells), but lately I’ve started expanding my Lush repertoire and I hope to do so even more in the near future.

I’d been toying with the idea of switching to one of their face washes for a while now, but I was hesitant, mostly due to the fact that my skin is crazy sensitive, and even a hint of change to its routine will send it screaming for the hills. But I’ve heard wonderful things about their face products, and I’m a growing fan of the company, plus everyone who works there is so incredibly helpful they’d be able to find the most suitable product for my skin, so I figured I’d rip the band-aid off and go for it.

And I’m so glad I did. I got hooked up with the Aqua Marina facial cleanser, which is a decadent mix of calamine, aloe vera, seaweed, and sea salt, and I’m absolutely loving it! First of all, it smells amazing. Every morning and evening it’s like I’m a mermaid bathing in the ocean, purple shell bra and all. Plus it feels wonderful on my skin – a lovely cleanser to rub in, and leaves the skin deliciously soft and smooth. And best of all, my crazy sensitive, change-hating skin hasn’t freaked out at all! It’s loving it! I’ve noticed the redness that is usually my nose’s best friend is disappearing, and things are really starting to relax on my chin. I am so happy with this cleanser.

And they’ve got face products for every type of skin imaginable. If you’re looking to change up your routine, just head into a Lush store and any of the lovely employees there would be more than happy to direct you to a product that’s right for you. If you’re nervous that your skin will spaz out at you for trying something new, like I was, they can give you a sample to try before diving in completely. I tried my sample of Aqua Marina a few weeks before I decided I’d definitely be buying it; I used it for a couple of days, then when it ran out I went back to my regular face wash, and I could definitely notice the difference and my skin was angered and it yelled at me “HEY! Go back to that beautiful ocean stuff you were using!” So I did, and Aqua Marina has been my best friend since.

Another really nice thing is that it’s not actually crazy expensive, like I was worried it would be. The prices vary, of course, but for 100g of Aqua Marine, it’s $12.95, which is a great deal considering it has a shelf life of three months and 100g is more than enough to last for that time.

I was also given a catalogue of their products the last time I was in there, and oh my goodness, I want it all. I could easily spend all of my money in a Lush store. Easily. But as I’m not looking to go broke, I’ll start with one product at a time. The bath balms are a given; Aqua Marina is a given now. Next I’ll be curious to try some of their hair products, see if anything can tame the dreaded frizz. There’s also toothpastes and deodorants I’d like to try. Exciting!

I can’t wait to find out what else Lush products will have in store for me. Shopping spree!
