Round and round
we spin around,
where to stop,
we fall to the ground.
Thump, thump, thump.
Silly games,
try for fame.
Laughing jokes,
they’re all the same.
We grew up so fast.
Eyes clamped tight
to shatter my sight.
Arms hugged close
so I can’t put up a fight.
Thump, thump, thump.
White blinds me
and I can’t see.
So blank, so smooth, so cold.
To be free!
Silly little girl.
Flash from the past,
it’s all too soon to last.
One to keep me safe,
one to push it fast.
Safer and Faster.
Head twitch.
I want to switch
back to who I was
before the dank ditch
where Faster held me.
Safer warned
that I would be torn,
but Faster was irresistible,
I could have sworn.
Thump, thump, thump.
It started out fun
but soon the breath left my lungs.
Wrists squeezed to gain beautiful blues.
The thumps pummelled and won.
“I was just joking, babe.”
My eyes opened wide,
gasping memory I’d tried to hide
creeping with thin spider legs, choking,
but still I blew it back aside.
Tick tock.
Head twitch.
Stomach pitch.
Cleansed, go back to rocking silence.
I promise not to be a snitch.
After all, it was just a joke.
I beg for Safer
but the men in white tell me later.
They’ve kept me here so long.
Alone, I cry for Safer.
Wait, who again?
Safer slips my mind.
Faster is my bind,
haunting, leering. Scared.
All that I can find.
Thump, thump, thump.
Rocking, swaying, shhh.
Hugging, squeezing tighter, shh.
Don’t think but a word.
Hush, baby, hushhh.
Blink and Faster’s here.
It was just a joke.
It was just a joke.
Faster didn’t mean it, I’m not really here.
It was just a joke!
Wasn’t it?
Round, round,
Faster spin around!
Where to stop? Stop!
I fall to the ground.
Thump, thump, thump.
Silly games,
they’re all to blame.
Laughing jokes,
it’s not the same.
Thump, thump, thump!
