Or at least trying to. My schedule was a bit all over the place throughout December, but now, finally, things feel as though they are calming down somewhat. I’m back to my regular schedule with work, which means I have a little more free time throughout the week, so hopefully I’ll be able to get everything else back in order, including this blog.
It can be very hard to motivate oneself after having a break, especially one that’s not a real break where you’re relaxing and enjoying yourself but one where you’re just doing work of a different kind than what you’d normally be doing. I feel like I’ve barely had time to think, let alone do the things I’ve really been wanting to do.
I’m so mentally tired from all the other work that I have to do that by the time I get some free time I don’t want to do any of the work that I actually want to be doing, like writing, or even blogging. Such is life.
But I am easing back into the swing of things, however slowly, and I’m going to try to get back into the mode of productivity – writing every day and planning for a somewhat less sporadic posting on this blog.
I shall begin by plotting out my next novel, so that I no longer have a lack of a definitive plot as an excuse to not be writing. I also want to try hashing out one of my novel ideas into a short story, because I’m in the mood for writing something more on the creepy/disturbing side than my current novel can be.
Baby steps. Here we go.
